| I'm actually returning here, I'm not new. I was here with the original MU crew before they left for EVE: Online. Anyway, just got Freelancer reinstalled and I was getting excited to jump on back in except I cannot connect to the server When I try to connect in game I get "I'm sorry, but a connection cannot be established to that server. This is usually caused by a server going offline when you attempted to connect to it." There is some other stuff stated there too I just can't remember right now. I disabled my firewall, opened ports, uninstalled, installed, and reinstalled Freelancer AND MU. Still nothing. Any help would greatly be appreciated as I really wanna play this mod. Thanks guys. | |

| I'll leave the technical issues to the more competent Tunicle. Other than that though... Welcome bach. | |

| Vista has some fun with many programmes includin g some FL ones:) Make sure you run all associated FL bits as administrator. Have recent Vista updates. If you still have Norton installed it is the reason for many vista problems. Disabling it doesn't work, unistalling does. See this thread for idea [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| Lol, you think I had Norton installed. Thats pretty funny. I am running everything related to FL with administrative privileges and still the same thing. Also, I cant view the topic, I don't have special access | |

| Sbach unfortunately the Autoupdater programme doesnt work with 64 bit vista or any other 64 bit operating system. We had another player with the same issues. Unfortunately the creator of the autoupdater is currently busy working on his own game so does not have the time to rectify this issue. My suggestion would be to create a dual boot with XP | |

| Actually I'm all set now, my ESET Smart Security was the issue. I uninstalled that and got right online. Unfortunately I no longer have anti-virus protection but it isn't really a bug deal to me since I rarely download and when I do I know where its coming from. See you all online | |

| That issue was mentioned on the lined posts that Tuni gave. Running any security other than Vista's own will prohibit Freelancer from working. You can still run Vista inbuilt though.
Glad you got sorted though. | |

| Good anti-virus but no free firewall, you'd still have to operate with the Vitsta Firewall. | |
